| About 100 golfers are seeing action in the Bacolod-Silay International Airport Inaugural Golf Tournament that tees off at 6 a.m. today at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club in Bacolod City .
Five titles are up for grabs in the one-day event supported by the Department of Transportation and Communication, headed by Sec. Leandro Mendoza, who is also president of the National Golf Association of the Philippines .
At stake are the crowns in Class A, B, C and D and the ladies division.
The tournament will adapt the Modified Stableford System, where a birdie and par account for 3 and 2 points, respectively. Ties will also be determined via countback, from lower handicap until gross scores of the last nine, six and three holes beginning from the 18 th hole.
Special prizes are at stake for those who make a hole-in-one on all the par-3 holes in the par-70 layout designed by Golem Silverio.
Registration is pegged at P800 for non NOGCC members and P600 for NOGCC members.*CPT
