DSWD mulls
gender sensitivity gab
BY ROMY AMARADO

The Dumaguete City social welfare and development office will give more attention this year to educating men about gender sensitivity, Social Welfare and Development Officer Marina Mendoza said, when her office organizes what she calls Empowerment of Paternal Abilities.

She said this is designed to improve men's awareness on gender issues.

Mendoza said efforts on this line had long been started but got stalled because attention was focused more on empowering women in the past.

“Now that we have a very strong organization of women in the city, we are now responding to some requests to also organize the men,” Mendoza said.

She said the idea is to promote equality between men and women.*RA
