Perdices Coliseum
track oval repair set
BY RENE GENOVE

Technical consultants from Malaysia will arrive in Negros Oriental to overlay with rubber the track of the Perdices Coliseum, in preparation for the Visayas Olympic Eliminations in the province in July.

The provincial engineer's office is now waiting the necessary papers for the rubberized track, and other sports facilities are also set for rehabilitation.

The setting of a rubberized track at the coliseum was planned out during the term of then governor and now Rep. George Arnaiz.

Meanwhile, the provincial government has allocated P4.5 million to repair the flooring of the 14-year-old Lamberto Macias Sports Center .

Part of the fund will be used to improve the comfort room and dressing rooms at the center, Sedillo said.

Funds have also been allocated for the improvement of the dressing room and bathrooms at the Aqua Center .

The sports facilities will not be available while rehabilitation works are ongoing until July this year.

About 17 sports disciplines will be played during the one-week Visayas Olympic Eliminations.*RG
