Cracker explosions
damage cars in city
BY PATRICK PANGILINAN

A series of firecracker explosions that damaged three vehicles in Bacolod City is being investigated by the police.

Ma. Socorro Tuales reported that she was at the SM City Supermarket when the mall security department informed her that her black Toyota Altis had been damaged by firecrackers thrown by still unidentified persons at about 5:15 p.m. yesterday.

The explosion destroyed the vehicle's windshield, police record showed.

Aufred Paul Sa-onoy also reported to Police Station 2 that unidentified person threw firecrackers at his blue Crosswind and broke its headlight, radiator and air conditioner at the Social Security System building compound.

Michael Corteza of Carmela Valley, Talisay City also told police investigators that unidentified person threw firecrackers at his Revo parked at the Pearl Manor Pension House at B.S. Aquino Drive at about 4:15 p.m. yesterday.

The Bacolod City Police Office says ten police stations conducted checkpoints after the incidents. As of press time last night, however, no arrest had yet been made.*PP
