The varsity sports director of the University of St. La Salle yesterday threw the NOFA Provincial Men's Football Under-19 finals in doubt, saying that the school has yet to decide whether it will field its team for the championship on Sunday in Bago City .

USLS varsity head Roger Banzuela yesterday reiterated that they want to be assured that proper security measures are put in place for Sunday's title showdown against West Negros College at the Manuel Torres Sports Center pitch.

But NOFA coordinator Pauline Javelona last night said that the police in Bago City will secure the game on Sunday.

event scheduled

The maiden staging of the SM City Bacolod Inter-Barkada Basketball 3-on-3 tournament kicks off Jan. 18 at the mall's North Transport Terminal, and will be held from 5-9 pm until Jan. 27, a press release from organizers said.

Organizers are inviting teams from public and private schools, and barangays to join the four categories --- elementary (12-under), high school (14-under), barangay (16-under) and seniors (35-up).

Four basketball rims will be set up so that games in the four divisions will be played simultaneously.
