The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants -- Negros Occidental Chapter will host the 2008 1 st Visayas Geographical Area Conference on the theme “FACES 4 Synergy”, Feb. 22-24, at Business Inn, Bacolod City , a PICPA press release said.

The theme stands for “Fellowship Activities for Competence, Ethics and Service.”

Commissioner Juanito Espino Jr. of the Commission on Audit will be the keynote speaker at the opening plenary session.

UNO-rian places 10th
in dentists board exam

A graduate of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos in Bacolod City , placed 10 th in the December 2007 Dentistry Board Examination, a UNO-R press release said.

She is a daughter of Antonio Trasmonte and the former Josephine Jaranilla, and has studied at UNO-R from pre-school to college, it also said.

Joan Grace Trasmonte, the new dentist, graduated from UNO-R Grade School in 1995, UNO-R High School in 1999, and Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology in 2003, and finished her Dentistry Course at the Iloilo Doctors' College, in Iloilo, the press release added.*
