Busy months ahead for
volleyball group

The Negros Occidental Volleyball Association will have its hands full in the coming months as the organization highlights its 30 th anniversary with a bevy of local and national events in Bacolod City .

The festivities start on Feb. 2 when NOVA holds its first-ever Park Volley Tournament at the University of St. La Salle , where 100 teams are expected to compete.

NOVA president Roger Banzuela said they have invited collegiate teams as well as elementary and high school squads to see action in the one-day, four-a-side tournament.

The college division will play on a bigger court at 8x16 meters, while elementary and high school players vie in a 7x 14-meter area.

Banzuela said NOVA will also be hosting the Philippine Volleyball Federation referees' congress from Feb 15-17 also at USLS.

The volleyball group will also host the Visayas eliminations of the Nestea Beach Volleyball Tournament from April 7-10. *

Banzuela also disclosed that organizers of the Shakey's girls volleyball tournament of champions want the event be held in Bacolod just like last year in May. *CPT
