| A 66-year-old woman was stabbed dead by two unidentified persons Friday, in Brgy. Daro, Dumaguete City , the police said yesterday.
Valintina Batal, 66, of Brgy. Maningcao Gamay, Sibulan, Negros Oriental was delivering empty sacks of flour when two male suspects stabbed her for still unknown reason.
Investigation revealed that Batal and her two daughters were delivering empty sacks of flour ordered by Primitiva Amorin of Purok Colonan, Brgy. Daro, when the incident happened about 10:20 a.m. Friday.
The suspects escaped on a red Honda Wave motorcycle, driven by another companion.
Probers said although wounded, Batal was still able to run into the house of Amorin and shout for help.
Her daughters brought the bloodied woman to the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital but she died about 40 minutes later.
Witnesses told the police the two suspects fled west on foot towards Claytown, Daro and boarded a waiting motorcycle driven by another male person.
The police are still facing a blank wall on the identities of the suspects.*RG
