Christmas in January

The hectic Yuletide season is over, but its Christmas and New Year's Parties were celebrated by SM department store in Bacolod City , dubbed us “Red Hot” only on January 7.

It featured dance and entertainment numbers by the store employees. The “Ware Department” emerged as the grand champion in the dance contest with their hip-hop medley.

As of January this year, the “Tree of Hope” at the mall was able to reach P2 million in cash and goods, the management said. The project aimed to address the child abuse problems in Negros .

Present at the launching were Girlie Aragon, national deputy director of Bantay-Bata, officers of the mall and ABS-CBN, some city mayors, and Ms. MassKara 2007 Rosario Sales.

The launching was followed by a dinner for a cause at the Provincial Capitol as another fund-raising activity. There are seven Trees of Hopes nationwide.

The 10th anniversary of Galleon Enterprises Telecom was celebrated on the theme “Celebrating a Decade of Success Cheers for More Years” at the grand ballroom of Sugarland Hotel.

The best in Christmas symbol costume was awarded to Gretchen Jernia, Mae Rose Bizo, and Edgar Villaluna. Plaques of recognition were given to Romulo Nilo Acoyong, Warren Patrick Yee, Balicas, Lamboso and Company and Jovito Berdin.

Outstanding employees who were also awarded were Ritchil Lorilla and Mary Grace Baquinquito, Richel Juaniza and Emylou Gallermo.*
