Negros Oriental solons are in favor of the re-introduction of the national ID system in Congress and said it has not only worked well in other countries but will also do so in the local level.

Rep. Joceyln Limkaichong (1st district, NegOr) said her municipality in La Libertad has implemented the ID system in the barangay level without any objection from constituents.

The ID system in La Libertad is complete with finger printing, blood banking, PhilHealth, Pag-Ibig, GSIS and SSS numbers, among the relevant data, she said.

Gov. Emilio Macias II challenged Thursday any interested person to sue him in court for alleged abuse of authority, for urging the Department of Education to look for other venues if it is will hold the Palarong Panlalawigan this year.

Abusive local government officials should find their way in courts, Macias said.

In his year-end press conference, the governor said he was irked about the appointment of another person as division superintendent of schools by the DepEd in Central Visayas , without official information relayed to his office.

Benguet officials observe
health development model

Dr. Fidencio Aurelia, chief of the Metropolitan Inter-local Health Zone said officials of province of Benguet are planning to make a study tour in Negros Oriental to observe its health development implementation.

One of the latest programs promoted under the MILHZ is the use of iodized salt and the clean public market project. Recentlty, the Dumaguete City public market also adopted the clean public market program.

Several local government units from other provinces have been in Negros Oriental to study the same programs.
