The Negros Occidental Football Association has drawn up a tentative schedule for its activities for 2008 spiced up by a two new events – a street soccer festival and a 7-a-side men's under-19 and open tournament – on top of the monthly grassroots football festivals.

The activities kick off on Jan. 12 when NOFA stages the Central leg of the grassroots football festival at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos field.

The Southern leg in Cauayan town and the Northern leg, set in Victorias City , is scheduled on Jan. 19 and 26, respectively.

Drag race set in Kabankalan

Four titles are at stake in a drag race coinciding with the 32nd Sinulog Festival celebration to be held in Kabankalan City on Jan. 13.

Lined up races in the event at Guanzon Street are four stroke open modified underbone (125cc model limit), four stroke open superstock underbone (125cc model limit), four stroke open superstock underbone (125cc limit) and the four stroke superstock underbone, exclusive for Kabankalan residents.

Luis Zayco, coordinator of the race sponsored by Team Redline, said registration is pegged at P500 for each entry.

Class '73 keglers
grab bowlfest lead

Class '73 Globelines is leading in the ongoing Negros Occidental High School Inter-Class Alumni Bowling Tournament at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City .

The Globelines pinbusters headed by Butch Villagracia hit 10,379 pinfalls, 13 pins ahead of erstwhile leader Class '66, who compiled a seven-round score of 10,366 balls.

In third is Class 68 with 10,070, followed by Class '74, 9,976; Class '83, 9,902; Class '67, 9,895; Class '72, 9,776; Class '89, 9,720; Class '65, 9,709; Class '59, 9,473; Class '58, 9,421;; Class '80, 9,412; Class '56, 9,293; Class '71, 9,219; Mavericks '67, 9,201; Class '82, 8,633; Class '84, 7,844; Class '76, 7,780, and Class '54, 5501.
