| The suspects in the break-in at a government compound in Bacolod City last week have been charged for robbery, the police said yesterday.
Police Station 2 commander, Inspector Rie Gumban said those charged at the City Prosecutor's Office on January 2 were Raymund Vasquez and Ruel Olviedo for their involvement in the burglary at the compound of the Provincial Engineer's Office at Capitol Extension, in Baacolod.
The burglary involved more than P200,000 worth of motor oils, police investigation showed.
Also charged were alias “Gilbert”, and “Bimboy Villarias”, who are still at-large, a 16-year-old boy, and Jan Van Gella, a fuel dealer who bought some of the items from the suspects.
The minor is now under the custody of the Bacolod City Social Development Center and will undergo rehabilitation according to SDC head, Juan Paolo Sajo.
Vasquez and Olviedo have posted bail, Gumban said.
The Provincial Engineer's Office said it will move for the hiring of security guards to man its compound after the break-in. Before the break-in they only had office drivers for watchmen.*PP
