Starting the year right

It's 2008 – the Year of the Rat! Let us pray and hope that it will be a

peaceful, progressive and abundant year for all of us, especially for us here in the City of Smiles !

To start the year right, Netz Benedicto and Moi decided to have a hearty lunch at L'Fisher Hotel, Bacolod . We had a hard-time looking for a taxicab and we were already desperate so we called our amiga DCG, and presto, transport was at our service, immediately, Muchas Gracias!

It was a family affair at the hotel and almost every table was occupied by one family, including the lolos and lolas. I met Barry Shiller, the husband of the late Julie Colet Shiller, an alumna of La Consolacion College. With him were his beautiful daughter, Monique, and her handsome husband, Edgar Varela. There were also their classmates and best-friends of their mom, like Teret de Leon Arnaldo who entertained them during their stay.

The Schiller family spent their Christmas in Bacolod to fulfill their promise to Julie. I enjoyed watching families with their sons or daughters studying or working during the holidays. Among these families are the Ascalon, Yusay, Valderama, and many more.

I am extending my congratulations to J.B., Marides Ciocon Mapa, specially to Lolo Roseller, Lola Ditas, and Gina and Delia, who welcomed the arrival of their grandson, bouncing baby boy Mapa last December 31, just a day before the birthday of Manang Malu.
