BY RENE GENOVE

The Dumaguete Press Club and the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas held a thanksgiving party with the Philippine National Police Provincial Command, Saturday, at the Villa Levita Resort, Agan-an, Sibulan, Negros Oriental.

Police provincial director, S/Supt. Melvin Buenafe, said the strong support of the media is one of the reasons why the command was awarded as Best PNP Provincial Office and Outstanding Police Community Relations office in the country.

Last year, C/Insp. Rosalinda Abellon, chief of the Police Community Relations, was also recognized as one of the Outstanding Policewomen nationwide.

Buenafe lauded the media for giving unbiased reports against anomalous activities and even reporting on erring police officers.

Also supporting the activity was FESAGSS regional chief Supt. Rey Lawas*RG
