Gov. Emilio Macias II received Thursday a check for P300,000 from the Dumaguete Lions Club for the Negros Oriental Drug Rehabilitation Center .

Club president Jerome Villegas led the turnover rites attended by Board Member Mariant Escaño-Villegas and NORDAPC head Fernando Martinez

Villegas said the amount represents the net proceeds of the benefit concert of Sarah Geronimo last month held at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex in Dumaguete City.

The club is planning to organize another event to benefit drug dependents and for other causes, he added.

Meanwhile, Martinez thanked the club and said that the fund will be helpful to their campaign against the use of illegal drugs.*MA
