| NORSU Neverland!
It's undoubtedly the most anticipated event of the year, so when fiesta time comes around you know that Negros Oriental State University 's Founder's Day celebration is not far behind. This year the so avant-garde and progressive university outdid itself. Of course, under the leadership of its president the dynamic scholastic genius Dr. Henry Sojor, what can be expected but fun and games to the max, and a beauty contest that is the best around.
NORSU's big day started with the habitual ceremonies and then it was one big fete with the All Star Showbiz hunks in a friendly basketball game with the university's All Star varsity team.
Cuties Gerald Anderson, Joross Gamboa, Joseph Bitangcol, funnyman Bayani Agbayani and Onyok Velasco, hunks Ian Veneracion, Bong Alvarez, Carlos Morales, Ace Espinosa and Monsour del Rosario had the gals and the “in-betweens” cheering with orgasmic glee; to put it bluntly hysterics. The local stars had the guys cheering for them and they did a good job ‘cause the locals beat the visitors royally.
No sooner were breaths caught than it was beauty, brawn and brains time. The Mr. and Miss NORSU this year was a sheer delight, a little longish though. Gold and black were the colors of the opening production dance number. Thirteen pairs from the university's different colleges and campuses competed for the “top banana” (no pun intended)! They showed the talents they had in song, dance and drama; oh well some had and the other didn't, but kept the full house entertained nonetheless. Wolf whistles, hoot and howler greeted the couples in their eye-candy swimsuits. Silver with red waistband bikinis for the guys and raspberry “Rudi Guernrich” with the top (natch!) style bikinis for the gals displayed their assets tastefully. If everyone went to the beach in those getups, I'd spend my twilight years in the beach (heehaw). The formal wear portion was colors straight out of a crayola box. Simple gorgeous!
Four hours later the honors went to Fritz Brendo Tomogsoc (who was also best speaker, formal attire and production attire) and Melanie Oliva (who got the professionalism, Aldea smile and people's choice) 2008 Mr. and Miss. 1 st runner-up was Albert Danyl Osabel (he got the talent plum and the people's choice) and Aikee Belnas. Second runners-up were Chuck Lancer Alquisola and Michelle Eleccion (who was judged best in talent and production attire.
Randy Mendoza, Romando Tizon, Arnie Villanueva , Jamaica Rafales, Marlon Allen Ferraren, Katherine May Gonzalez, Joven Gil Magbanua and Mae Anne Saycon (best in swimwear) and Ellen Rose Alarcio got minor awards. My personal choice handsome Baisano Mark Anthony Godes got the smiles award.
Mazeltovs and kudos go to Dr. Henry Sojor and his cohorts who certainly know how to stage extravaganzas! May the New Year bring you joy!................NOUS!*
