| An ordinance requiring all business and commercial establishments in Bacolod City applying for 2008 business permits to secure pre-numbered registration plates was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Friday.
The ordinance proposed by Councilor Al Victor Espino said that the pre-numbered plates and dated stickers that will be required of all business and commercial establishments in Bacolod City will be displayed in conspicuous places in his or her place of business.
The plate and sticker will be accompanied by the printed business card or permit issued by the Permits and Lincensing Division, it said.
The ordinance said the business registration plate will be a semi permanent plate which will be valid for three years. It will be replaceable upon payment of the assessment but will be renewed yearly and which an additional amount of P600 will be charged to the cover cost of the business registration renewal stickers bearing the current year of issuance visibly indicated and attached in the business plate, it said.
The ordinance provides that no business registration plate will be issued unless the applicant has complied with all the requirements called for under existing city regulations and the payment of the fees required.
It said an additional amount of P600 will be imposed and included to the existing ordinance or charges in fees to be paid by owners of stores, firms and other forms of establishments doing business in Bacolod City for the issuance of business registration plates.
Violation of the provisions of the ordinance by any official or employee of the local government will be considered sufficient ground for administrative disciplinary action, while business establishments violating its provisions will be fined P500 for non-display of the plates and P5,000 plus revocation of Business and Mayor's Permits for displaying a counterfeit plate.*CGS
