Bacolod officials ink MOA
for electrification in Granada

The Bacolod City government has entered into a memorandum of agreement with Central Negros Electric Cooperative Inc. for the electrification of Hda. Balabag 1, Brgy. Granada , Bacolod City .

The city is represented by Mayor Evelio Leonardia while CENECO is represented by Edwin Montemayor, acting manager of CENECO.

The MOA states that the local government unit recognizes the fact that electric power supply can spur economic activities in the countryside and that the city desires to have the rural electrification program accelerated through the energization of far-flung puroks in the different barangays.

It also said that due to financial constraints and because the project is not within the projected/approved work plan for 2007, the project cannot be implemented by CENECO and added that the city is willing to shoulder the line materials, hardware and equipment for the electrification of the residents of Hda. Balabag 1, Brgy. Granada amounting to P499,976.78.

It also said CENECO will construct or install the extension of primary lines and installation of 1-15kva distribution transformer intended for the residents of Hda. Balabag and that it will shoulder the cost of labor and overhead charges amounting to P90,501.57.

The project should be implemented and completed within 110 working days after receipt of payment by the CENECO of the cost of materials from the city, the MOA said.*CGS
