Tourism Undersecretary Cynthia Norton lauded the Buglasan Festival celebration of Negros Oriental held December 21 to January 1,  to mark the 118 th anniversary of the province.

Norton said the province has plenty of talented and innovative people that can stimulate attention, and that another commendable move was the establishment of the Sidlakang Negros Village which serves as a showroom and a one-stop-shop.

Buglasan also features various festivities of the municipalities and cities at the Sidlakang Negros Agri-fair booths where arts, crafts and local farms products were displayed.

Norton, however, said the province should   improve its   transportation and accommodation facilities.

The influx of tourists to Negros Oriental is increasing and it would need an accommodation facility not far from the capital city of Dumaguete , she pointed out.

She said Negros Oriental will soon become like Cebu and Bohol in terms of tourist arrival.*MA
