Seminarians in concert

The Sacred Heart Seminary School of Philosophy successfully staged a Christmas concert titled “Handog: to the World, Nation and Diocese” at the PJP II Cultural Center, Sacred Heart Seminary in Bacolod City recently, featuring the Voicesems, an all-seminarian singing group, seminarians with dancing feet, and the Teatro Lingganay.

It was directed by Taffy Acot who was assisted by Mike Golez.

Voicesems is launching its first music CD titled “Brother's Keeper” which contains original composition.

Seminary rector, Fr. Gerardo Alminaza, highlighted the Diamond celebration of the Diocese in his opening remarks.

Guest performer was the Silay Rondalla Ensemble under the baton of Jegger Anjao who gave their generous assistance through Mayor Jose and Marissa Montelibano.

The Seminary Fathers, the producers of the show, Frs. Gerry Alminaza, Ronald Quijano, Jesmar Manato, Salvador Barcelona, Abner Gingos and Jude Serfino, rendered a song number “I want to Live.”

Fr. Quijano gave an inspiring Christmas message at the end of the show.

December-born celebrators were honored last first Friday by Our Lady of Charity with a Mass officiated by Fr. Mau Buenafe of the San Sebastian Parish.

Sumptuous foods were served by the members and a short program and exchange of gifts followed. The yearly Christmas celebration has been moved from the second to the third week of January to accommodate all members.

Remember: Loving your work energizes you, eliminates fatigue and avoids boredom.*
