Guv to ban
smoking at Sidlakan

Gov. Emilio Macias II said yesterday he will strictly impose the ban on drinking alcoholic beverages and gambling inside the Sidlakang Negros Village in Barangay Piapi, Dumaguete City .

He also said that no one will be allowed to do immoral acts inside the Agri-Fair booths at the village which will become permanent structures, with sleep-over cabins at the mezzanine floor.

The Sidlakang Negros Village Management Board was tasked to temporarily control and implement all activities inside the village, until the Sidlakang Negros Foundation have been established.

The management board is now finalizing the rules and regulations and the activities that will be prohibited inside the village, Macias said.

He said the agri-fair booths can also be utilized as ticketing office for hotels and tourism destinations of a localities. The use of the village is not limited only during Buglasan Festival, he pointed out.

He said LGU's can also hold their activities such as fund-raising concerts and variety shows at the village, provided they obtain permission from the Sidlakang Negros Management Board.*MA
