Hambabalud Festival
retains Buglasan crown
 

The Hambabalud Festival of Jimalalud, Negros Oriental, retained its Buglasan Festival of Festivals crown by beating four entries in the 2007 competition held Thursday at the Sidlakang Negros Village , Barangay Piapi, Dumaguete City .

The Parol Festival of Santa Catalina placed second; Tawo-Tawo Festival of Bayawan City , third; while the fourth place went to the Langub Festival of Mabinay.

Majority of the special awards, such as best in costume, street dancing, best entourage were also won by Jimalalud, whose representative also bagged the Buglasan King award, best in costume, best speaker, and was best performer.

The Buglasan Queen award went to Mabinay, whose bet was also best speaker, performer, and best in costume and in Filipiniana.

Santa Catalina went home with the best in drum corps, and best in showdown and festival float.

The Tawo-tawo Festival of Bayawan won as best in choreography and best in identification arc, and the Langub Festival of Mabinay got the best in float and best designer awards.*MA
