Where were you on October 28?
Conclusion

Soared we denying the truth of what we say in the Apostles Creed, i.e., Jesus will come again to judge both the living and the dead.?
Let us briefly declare what we believe.
What is of primal importance is that Christ is in us, The hope of glory, that Christ dwells in us through faith (Ephesians 3:17); thus, we can open our hearts now to him when he says, Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if everyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in. (Revelations 3:30). To the people’s questions in Jesus day, Where is the Kingdom? Jesus said that the Kingdom is in your midst.
At certain great moments in history Christ came most powerfully in the movements of St. Francis of Assissi, Martin Luther King, Pope John XXIII. These were times of the special advents of Christ in human history.
But while we do affirm Christ’s presence now, his invasion into the world in great redemptive and transforming events, a future Second Coming at the end of historical process is one article of the Christian faith that is solidly established by our biblical faith. For the New Testament holds on tenaciously to the hope of Christ’s final victory; history will find its consummation in the creation of the new heaven and the new earth (Revelation 21:1). This is the epilogue of history. For we speak of Christ as the Alpha and the Omega. We look to the day when he will be all in all.
Just two things to consider: one, that the New Heaven and the New Earth gather up the symbols of the Garden of Eden. Thus the end of the drama of world history resembles the beginning. The second symbolism is that of the New Jerusalem descending from the skies. (Revelation 21:2). It means God’s complete rule over humankind and the complete sway of unity by walking in the light of the New Jerusalem (Revelations 21:24-26; Isaiah 2:4).
To conclude: In the light of all those truths, what is the posture of the Christian Church vis-a-vis Christ Second Advent?
In Paul’s writings, one of the pithy words is therefore. Since we believe that Christ has come, keeps coming to us in many forms, and will come again.
Therefore,my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. (ICor.15:58)*
