Grand opening at  Saltimboca

The mood was festive and upbeat when Saltimboca launched its newest amenity, the Saltimboca Function Hall,  recently. This is the latest addition to the popular Saltimboca Music Bar, Restaurant and Tourist Inn.

The first thing that struck us when we arrived, was its wide parking area. As we entered the new building, we were struck by the impressive clean lines of the façade. The interior design was undeniably elegant with its wonderful play of colors and light. Owners Joebert and Patty Cuaycong made the right choice in appointing architect Azucena Araneta and interior designer Bingirl Javelona, to come up with this gorgeous structure. The theater-type function hall can accommodate 500 people.

Rep. Monico Puentevella and wife, Patching, cut the ribbon while Father Romeo Tumunong officiated at the blessing. Guests oohed and aahed at the interiors as Patty and Joebert informed them that the new all-purpose function hall can be a venue for big parties, wedding receptions, seminars, birthdays, etc. There is a spacious stage at one end of the hall where shows and presentations can be held. During the opening, everyone enjoyed the excellent culinary delights specially prepared for the occasion.

Saltimboca manager Tippi Jalandoni and PRO (Marketing) Token Lizares, table-hopped, making sure the guests were having a great time. Entertainment was provided by Marylin Acot-Relles, who sang popular songs to everyone’s delight.

Most of the guests said this was certainly a welcome addition to Bacolod where parties galore are held every week. Kudos to Joebert and Patty Cuaycong for their new Saltimboca Function Hall!

Last Monday, we stayed glued to our TV sets from 7 a.m. to half past 12 (!) watching the Oscars show on Velvet channel. The emcee Jon Stewart did a fantastic job keeping the show on the ball for such a long time. I was so happy that Daniel Day Lewis won as Best Actor for There Will Be Blood. He was so humble in his victory – he even knelt onstage before presenter Helen Mirren (who played Queen Elizabeth II) who knighted him with the Oscar. What a moment!*
