BY CARLA GOMEZ

The proposed ordinance creating a Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center got favorable endorsements at a hearing of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Education chaired by Board Member Emilio Yulo III yesterday.

The program, described as a legacy program of Governor Joseph Marañon and Vice Governor Isidro Zayco, was passed on first reading, and the hearing was held yesterday preparatory to the second reading, Yulo said.

A P5.3 million budget from the provincial government is being proposed to operate the center.
