Sisters facing raps
for ‘cyber-sex den’

Police file charges against two sisters for running a "cyber-sex den"

Criminal charges for obscene publication and indecent shows were filed against two sisters, for allegedly running a cyber-sex den with young girls stripping naked for online foreign customers via the Internet, by the police in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental.

The sisters were charged before the Bayawan City court for violation of Section 9, Article 5 of Republic Act 7610, or the "Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act", Chief Insp. Rosalinda Abellon of the Provincial PNP's Women and Children's Concerns Desk, said.

Three of the popular beach resorts in Negros Oriental have taken on the challenge to explore the bustling European market with their participation in the Department of Tourism-led Philippine delegation to the recent 10th Salon de la Plongee sous Marine, in Paris.

Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace Durano led the Philippine delegation of 10 tourism-related groups, which included Antulang Beach Resort, Atlantis Resort, and Bajura Resort, all in southern Negros Oriental.

The scuba diving exhibit, renowned as one of the largest international diving trade shows and scuba exhibitions held this month in Paris, France, showcased 402 exhibitors from 40 countries, drawing close to 40,000 visitors and more than 200 journalists covering the event.

Drug suspect
gunned down

A suspected big-time illegal drug personality in Dumaguete City was gunned down by an unknown assailant Monday, at a private wharf in Tampi, Amlan, Negros Oriental.

Philippine National Police provincial director, Senior Supt. Melvin Ramon Buenafe, identified the victim as a Dandan Liu, of Sitio Canday-ong, Barangay Calindagan, Dumaguete, who succumbed to gunshot wounds from a .45 caliber pistol.

Dandan was shot from behind while buying a ticket for Cebu via the Tampi wharf while on board a black Honda Civic, police reports said.
