| Jay Bayron, the winningest amateur in 2007, will debut as a professional when he sees action in the Konica Minolta National Pro-Am set March 4-8 at The Riviera’s Langer in Silang, Cavite.
“Jay is in high spirits and he told me he wanted badly to win his first tournament as a professional,” Jake Ayson, the chair of the Rules Committee of the tournament sponsored by U-Bix Corporation and organized by the National Golf Association of the Philippines, said.
“Jay (Bayron) scored a dramatic victory last year as an amateur in our tournament and I wish him success in his new career as a pro,” Edilberto Bravo, the U-Bix chairman and president who hiked the total prizes this year to a record P3 million from the previous high of P1.7M, said in a press statement.
Jay was the amateur of Edwin Estrera when the duo won the event’s sixth edition last year, scoring the first wire-to-wire victory.*
