Can we rise above our leader?

In medical science, when a person has a very contagious disease, he is isolated so that the disease will not spread. In the natural world, one’s constant association with pickpockets, with prostitutes, with violent persons, etc. will eventually make one like the persons they are constantly associated with.

The saying “Birds of the same feather, flock together” is true. In politics, the same thing happens. A corrupted leader will contaminate a lot of people who are associated with her. Just look at the congressmen. The stains from their corrupted leader will rub off them. That is the reason why many decent people leave her because their principles are violated. They value their self-respect and soul more than money. They know that, at the end of life, there will be accounting.

From birth, God has planted in each individual the seed principle of right and wrong. Generally, no one is born bad. But the upbringing and the lesson he learns in adult life can greatly influenced him. In the case of Gloria Arroyo, the influence could not have come from her father who was fairly honest. As the proverb of King Solomon says “He who loves money, never has enough of it”. One will never be satisfied with his wealth. He will crave more of his love. Once the demon spirit of greed has resided in a person, if the person is a leader of the country, a lot of damage will be experienced by the nation.

But God loves the Filipinos whom He has bought with the blood of His son. We are precious to Him. He will help us rise above our evil leader so that His divine blessings can again flow to His deceived people. He is greater than a million Gloria Arroyos.
