A grand birthday bash

excuse me

The City of Smiles is again host to many activities, including the ongoing Philippine Airlines Interclub Golf Tournament at the Marapara golf club.

Golfers from New York, L.A., Manila, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and Cebu are in town for the event.

Hotels are fully booked and as expected, restaurants and souvenir shop and pasalubong centers will enjoy the brisk business.

Also in town are foreign and local medical volunteers for the Operation Smile Surgical Mission headed by Edith Villanueva, overall chairperson of the event.

Interior decorator Bud Sala and Taba Unson, left no stone unturned as they decorated the elegant setting of Plantazionne Clubhouse in Talisay City.

The design of Mediterranean mode and island colors with brilliant blooms complimented the spacious area, and the lovely guests present during the birthday celebration of Patching de la Rama Battistuzzi of Bacolod and Manila who turned eighty years old recently.

A surprise presentation in honor of the celebrator included a song number by Msgr. GG Gaston and Jorge Camposano, Flamenco by Mayen Lizares and her group, a modern dance by her swimming group, and lastly another  surprise dance number by Loreto Lopez and partner.

The sumptuous dinner was catered by Puring Tizon, plus Paella especially cooked by Manolet Lamata and desserts from Cebu “Tocinos del Cielo.”

The celebrator’s childhood friend, Hilda Kammer Scoutt, from Hawaii and Greece jetted in just to attend the happy occasion.

To the very gracious lady -- good health and stay beautiful. God bless.

Remember: “I’m always fascinated by the way memory diffuses fact.”*
