Baby abandoned

A newborn male child was found by a family after being apparently abandoned by his parents in Bacolod City Monday.

The baby, who was found wrapped in a black cloth, was left near the house of the Cayao family in Purok Hervias 3, Brgy. Villamonte, at about 11 p.m. Monday, ABS-CBN reported yesterday.

Herly Cayao said in the television interview that the child was found with his umbilical cord still uncut. This was later attended to by doctors at a nearby clinic.

She said in the same report that doctors at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital told them the child is quite healthy because he had completed the normal nine months in his mother's womb.*PP
