Beach and chili crabs

When Georgia Osmeña gets into town, her real friends are not far behind to make sure she has some fun. So, it was just but natural that Punta Bulata Resort's beach royale Miren Zayco put together New Yorker Chita Reyes, Utah winter wonderlander Cristina Gamboa, Ed Zayco and his picture perfect family from LA-LAland into a row of rooms with sweeping beach views in her domain while her Bantay Banwa hubby Bomber Zayco and their gorgeous children made sure that everyone had a fabulous time.

I did my usual early morning kayak excursion through the crystal clear bay. The American groupie was baking to suntan perfection and Georgia O kept egging Miren to tell her the day's gourmet menu.

Miren had us on edge till meal times when the food flooded our senses. There were Vice Gov. Isidro Zayco and Buting Dabao who dropped in for dinner and reappeared for lunch in Kabankalan as we drove back to Bacolod. I can't wait to go back to my Spalace by-the-sea!

BacoLaodiat brought in a Singaporean chef Bjorn Shen at Mushu Restobar where Chef JP Anglo reigns supreme. The whole staff was abuzz with diners feasting on chili crabs, crispy prawns with oats and lemon grass, orange-glazed spare ribs, rose essence Pink Panther drinks and other Oriental delights as the new moon brought in the year of the Rat. I dined with Paris based artist Victor Magsaysay, latest French mag Dedicate editor Raymond Leveque and furniture stylist Adjie Lizares. How Chinese can one get?...

MY PRAYER

Lord, thanks for moments I can spend with Thee and on Thee greater lean.*
