The screening committee of the Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative 2 has disqualified Henry Tam as candidate for director in the election for District 1 set Saturday.

Leovigildo Elmaco, chairman of NORECO 2's screening committee, said that upon examination and verification of Tam's Certificate of Candidacy, it was found out that he (Tam) has not met substantially all the requirements or qualifications to run as member of  the Board of Directors of NORECO 2, covering Pamplona , Amlan and Tanjay City .

Elmaco who also heads the NORECO 2 Institutional Services Department, said that among their findings on Tam was that the completion of the required subscription of share capital of 50 shares was accomplished only 36 days before the scheduled elections.

He said that the prescribed subscription of share capital for a member candidate should be 90 days prior to election.

Elmaco also pointed out some falsities in Tam's CoC.

The evaluation committee composed of Elmaco as chairman includes Dominador Tragico Jr. and Dionefred Macahig as members.

The committee pointed out that Tam claimed under oath, that he has paid 50 shares of stocks 90 days before the election, but NORECO 2's records found out otherwise.*RG
