to gain SBP support

The regional director of the BAP-Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas in Western Visayas has laid out a proposal, focused on development from the grassroots level and aimed at enhancing the region's reputation as a breeding ground of cage talents.

BAP-SBP Western Visayas director Tony Agustin said he hopes his four-phase program gets the support of the national federation, headed by telecommunications tycoon Manny Pangilinan.

Agustin will submit his proposal today at the BAP-SBP national conference in Manila.

Teenager Genaro “Ralph” Alvarez IV showed up the veterans in the inaugural Mayor Magdaleno Peña Under Bone Super Motard Challenge in Pulupandan town, Negros Occidental recently.

The 13-year-old sensation stole the thunder from his more illustrious rivals, topping the expert division of the event held in celebration of the annual fiesta of the town.

Trailing Alvarez were Ronald Margen, Mher Valderrama, Mark Tuvilla and Tim Gado.

ESD Amor bags
title in Bago

ESD Amor/ASSFBI decisioned NPBC BACPHIL/Tough Trucks, 512-510, in the finals to bag the crown in the Bago City Bowlers Association organized Mayor Ramon D. Torres Cup Invitational Open Bowling Tournament at the Plaza Arcade Bowling Alley in Bago City .

The champion squad under Edgar Allan Del Rosario defeated Gil Villagante's BACPHIL, thanks to the heroics of Boy Tisoy Villanueva, who sealed the victory for the ASSFBI.

Villanueva carried the scoring cudgels for the winning squad with 120 balls and Norman Pineda with 106, while Hernand Garciniego topscored for NPBC with 109 followed by Willy Mahilum and Ronnie Arroyo with 103 each.
