ILOILO CITY – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Boracay Eminent Persons Groups have cracked down on violators of ordinances and laws on Boracay Island .
The Environmental Management Bureau of the DENR regional office last week issued notices of adverse findings against four projects on the island-resort after they were allegedly found to be violating environmental laws and policies.
In the notice issued by EMB regional director Bienvenido Lipayon, the DENR directed the Boracay Crown Regency Hotels and Convention Center, owned by J. King & Sons Co., Inc., to stop its development projects in Barangays Balabag and Manoc-Manoc for lacking an Environmental Compliance Certificate.

additional P2-B loan
Sugar conglomerate Roxas Holdings Inc., which owns Central Azucarera de La Carlota Inc., said it has obtained an additional P2 billion-loan facility from two banks to fund its capacity expansion and the ethanol production venture.
The new loan from Bank of the Philippine Islands and Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. will complete the P5.8-billion capital it requires to pursue the two projects, the company said in its latest disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange.
The company acquired P1 billion from BPI, P500 million by RCBC, and another P500 million by BPI Asset Management and Trust Group. 


Saltimboca opens
new Function Hall
Saltimboca opened its Function Hall on Feb. 16 to accommodate bigger events.
The Function Hall is the newest facility of Saltimboca aside from its bar, restaurant and pension, bar manager Token Lizares said.
It is ideal for weddings, parties and concerts and can seat 500 people for theater-type events and can accommodate 300 tables. Its parking lot can hold 50 vehicles.
