marks anniversary

Valencia , Negros Oriental, celebrated the first anniversary of its Community-Based Healthy Lifestyle and Neighborhood Family Health Care and Wellness Program, Thursday.

The celebration on the theme “Support the Decade of Healthy Lifestyle Program,” kicked off with a healthy walk around the main streets of Valencia .

Gov. Emilio Macias II, Valencia Mayor Rodolfo Gonzalez Jr. and Dumaguete City Mayor Agustin Perdices gave messages.

Other speakers at the program were PNOC-EDC resident manager Dwight Maxino who talked on corporate social responsibility; update of the Department of Health lifestyle program by regional director Dr. Susana Madarieta; and another discussion by chief executive officer of the MILHZ, Dr. Fidencio Aurelia.

Another feature was the signing of the health covenant 2008 by the mayors of the six municipalities and one city that are members of the Metropolitan Inter Local Health Zone. These are Amlan, San Jose, Sibulan, Valencia, Bacong and Dauin towns, and the city of Dumaguete.*RG
