‘B' sugar prices sustain
upward trend this week
 

Millgate prices of domestic or “B” sugar in Negros and Panay sustained their upward trend this week after recovering on Feb. 7 following a drop in sugar prices in January, a monitor of the Sugar Master Plan Foundation showed.

At the Feb. 14 bidding, “B” sugar was sold between P1,035 and P1,067 per 50-kilo Lkg.

Prices on Jan. 31 ranged from P1,008 to P1,045.55 while on Jan. 24, between P1,013 and P1,048.29. But “B” prices picked up anew on Feb. 7, reaching as high as P1,051.89 per Lkg for Passi I.

This week, Binalbagan-Isabela Sugar Company sold its stocks at P1,053 (high) and P1,045.10 (low); Central Azucarera de la Carlota, P1,053 (high) and P1,035.21 (low); Hawaiian-Philippine Company, P1,058.03 (high) and P1,055.05 (low);

SONEDCO, P1,035; Victorias Milling Company, P1,040; Lopez Sugar Corp., P1,041; Sagay Central Inc., P1,060; Passi I, P1,067.69; Passi II, P1,060.29; Capiz, P1,055; and Bais, P1,041 (high) and P1,035.38 (low).

BISCOM sold 13,328.76 Lkgs; CAC, 801.57 Lkgs.; HPCO, 13,457.48 Lkgs; SONEDCO, 4,752.62 Lkgs.; and VMC, 10,352.85 Lkgs.

Last week, a total of 42,514.17 Lkgs. were disposed by BISCOM while CAC, 1,419.54 Lkgs. HPCO then sold 13,023.92 Lkgs; SONEDCO, 6,509.96 Lkgs.; and VMC, 12,239.50.*NLG
