2 precinct chiefs reassigned
BY PATRICK PANGILINAN

Bacolod City Police Office director, Senior Supt. Ronilo Quebrar, said yesterday that two precinct commanders have been reassigned.

Inspector Rie Gumban is now the commander of Police Station 9 after Inspector Augusto Buenaventura vacated the post in preparation for his retirement in April, Quebrar said.

Replacing Gumban is Senior Inspector Luisito Acebuche, who used to lead the City Mobile Group and the Anti-Robbery Task Group along with Supt. Leo Erwin Agpangan.

Acebuche said among his priorities are the bar fights in his area and street crimes such as car burglaries and snatchings.

Yesterday, two separate stabbing incidents that happened in pubs at the area of Police Station 2 left one person dead and four injured.

Gumban, meanwhile, said he will focus on “akyat-bahay” gangs composed of teenagers in his area.

He said a number of burglaries that involved minors has been reported to Police Station 9.

Although some of the thieves have already been apprehended and transferred to the Bacoldo Social Development Cente for rehabilitation, they are still monitoring other suspects, Gumban said.*PP
