Buenafe warns cops
using illegal drugs
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

The Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office has warned of sanctions on police officers reported to be engaged in illegal drugs activities.

Police provincial director S/Supt. Melvin Ramon Buenafe said he has ordered the disarming of a police officer reported to have refused a random drug test.

Buenafe identified the policeman as PO1 Jasper Necesito, who was administratively dismissed from the police rolls due to illegal drugs use while assigned with the 705 th provincial mobile group.

Necesito, however, was reinstated in 2006 when the administrative case against him was dismissed. He was later detailed to the Dumaguete Police station.

He reportedly refused a random drug test conducted in Dumaguete two weeks ago.

The team from the provincial command who conducted the drug test headed by Inspector Canoto Balneg was expected to file the necessary administrative charges against him.

Buenafe was also expected to order Necesito's relief while the regional PNP office to which he was called to report will conduct investigations.*JG
