TeleTech receives
DTI excellence award
 

Business process outsourcing firm TeleTech, which operates call centers in Bacolod and Iloilo , received the Regional Outsourcing and Offshoring Excellence Award from the Department of Trade and Industry at the recently-concluded E-Services Global Outsourcing Conference, Teletech said in a press release.

The Regional O&O Excellence award recognizes of companies that have supported the development of so-called next wave cities through direct investments and other initiatives such as human resource development.

The DTI campaign seeks to establish more cities outside of Metro Manila as ideal locations for investors, in anticipation of further demand from the global BPO market.

Undersecretary Carissa Cruz-Evangelista said in the press release the award recognizes the contribution of TeleTech in increasing the integrity of cities in the countryside as ICT investment locations.

Maulik Parekh, TeleTech vice president and general manager for Asia , said the award is a testament to the company's exceptional commitment to developing world-class Filipino talent in these regional hubs.

TeleTech, which has more than 15,000 workers, also has facilities in Cebu, Dumaguete, Lipa, Bacoor, Cainta, San Fernando and Santa Rosa , aside from Metro Manila.

It has more than 10, 000 employees outside of Metro Manila.

Parekh said TeleTech aims to increase their employees to 25,000 by 2009 in line with their commitment to bringing more jobs to the regional ICT hubs, the press release added.*
