Permits processing back
at City Hall on Feb. 18

The Bacolod City Permits and Licensing Division will accommodate applications for business permits through the One-Stop-Shop at the 2nd floor of the City Hall starting February 18.

The One-Stop-Shop, which reduces processing time for Business/Mayor's Permits, opened at the BAYS Center last January 2 to accommodate the influx of applications.

Since after 45 days the flow of business applications has already slowed down, the city administration has decided to process business permits applications at the City Hall, said Ardis Jaculina, head of Permits and Licensing Division.

To obtain a business permit, applicants must present a community tax certificate (single proprietorship) and community certificate number for corporations.

New business permit applicants are also required to submit additional requirements, including Securities and Exchange Commission registration and Articles of Incorporation; Department of Trade and Industry business name registration for sole proprietorship and Cooperative Development Authority registration (for cooperative);

Meanwhile, for permit renewal, needed are Social Security System clearance, Bureau of Internal Revenue certificate of payment, and license to operate from government agencies concerned.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod earlier passed a resolution requiring all business and commercial establishments in Bacolod applying for 2008 business permits to secure pre-numbered registration plates.

Pre-numbered plates and dated stickers required of all business and commercial establishments should be displayed in conspicuous places in the place of business.

The plate and sticker will be accompanied by the printed business card or permit issued by the Permits and Licensing Division.*NLG
