A resident of Purok Solid, Sitio Canday-ong, Barangay Calindagan, Dumaguete City who allegedly killed himself by hanging, has puzzled police investigators who said they discovered that his throat has been slashed.

Police probers identified the victim as Jiovannie Suarez, 31, single. He was found dead with a duplex wire tied around his neck that bore a slash wound.

The victim's father, Tiburcio, said he found his son hanging from the ceiling of the room, and brought him down with the help of another son, Jake.

Responding policemen said that when they came they found a kitchen knife stained with blood in the room, and the victim already lying in bed with an electrical wire tied around his neck.

Case investigator PO3 Florito Fajardo said they could not determine which came first, the slashing of the neck or the hanging.

Fajardo said the victim had attempted to end his life in 2006.*JG
