| Call center company Teleperformance bared its plans to expand its operations in Bacolod in a meeting between Trevor Friensen, the company's executive vice president for Philippine Operations, and Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr. Tuesday.
This will mean hiring of more call center agents and more employment for the people of Bacolod and nearby localities, Leonardia said.
At present, Teleperformance has 400 call center agents in Bacolod .
Friensen, who came to Bacolod for the first time, was joined by Site Director Rich Loveland and Bacolod call center manager Don Sausa. They said Teleperformance is impressed with the business climate in Bacolod .
Councilor Wilson Gamboa, chairman of the committee on traffic, was consulted on the possibility of allowing public utility jeepneys to pass the call center site.
Gamboa said he will bring up the matter in a public hearing with PUJ operators.*
