CENECO to set up
Silay substation

The Central Negros Electric Cooperative is eyeing a site in Brgy. 4 in Silay City for its proposed 5 MVA substation, a project aimed to augment power supply in the area which hosts the newly-opened airport of international standards.

Roel Venus, head of Cooperative Promotion Section, said CENECO officials, led by board president Roberto Montelibano, inspected the project site in Brgy. 4 on Tuesday.

The board has already passed a resolution allowing the CENECO management to look for a site with an area between 600 and 1,000 square meters where the substation will be situated, he said.

The lighting of the road to the Silay airport had earlier been raised as a security concern for passengers.

EXTENSION LINES

Meanwhile, the CENECO board approved on Tuesday the installation of extension lines in three relocation sites in Bago City , Venus said.

The lines will be installed in barangays Bagroy, Taloc and Calumangan where more than 300 families will benefit from the electrical connection.*NLG
