| A businessman who allegedly forced into the mouth of a traffic enforcer, a citation ticket issued to him for a traffic violation in Dumaguete City , is now facing charges, the City Legal Office revealed.
Businessman Larry Estacion reportedly parked his motorcycle in a parking space for four-wheeled vehicles, and was issued a citation ticket by traffic enforcer Farrel Catan.
Estacion was allegedly irked and stuffed the citation ticket into Catan's mouth.
City legal officer Neil Ray Lagahit said that by filing the complaint against Estacion, the local government is sending a strong message to would-be traffic violators that nobody is above the law.
Lagahit said Estacion's act is an affront not only to the traffic enforcer but also to the city government.
Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police in Dumaguete is keeping up to its tag as a child-friendly police station.
A group of school children visited several government agencies recently, including the city PNP and Bureau of Fire Protection.
Women and Children's desk officer SPO2 Josefa Lakandula briefed the children from Kaino's Montessori of Batinguel about their job.
The children were also told not to play with toy guns.*JG
