| Love Day for kids
A pre-Valentine party was tendered by Susie Ortigas, one of the directors of Suntown Camp Foundation, for children with cancer and their parents, in Bacolod City .
Parents with cancer all the way from Himamaylan City also came for the event dubbed “Love Day” party.
Before the merienda, children had parlor games, group singing and dance. Volunteers Martin Chua, Bianca Lacson, and the BERKS facilitated the program. Highlight of the affair was a gift-giving of heart-shaped cakes from Susie, who purposely came from Manila for the Valentine party with the children.

Despite the erratic downpour, the BacoLaodiat Festival was a success. Many activities were held. Colorful costumes and parade drew children and adults alike at 6 th Street Bacolod , particularly the Capitol Lagoon. Some, however, may have been disappointed at not having witnessed the dance and parade presentations, and marvelous fireworks display.
The streetdancing and lantern parade was also a sight to behold. Congratulations to the winners. My group had a good look from L'Fisher Hotel. Eli Tajanlangit, Ninfa and Perla Leonardia, and Moi proceeded to Sweet Green in front of the PNB building where we enjoyed several activities. We were joined by Carla Gomez, Laarni Aguilar, Dennis Ascalon and Ana Abaya.
Out attentive hosts were Millie Kilayko and Tima Lacson, owners of Sweet Greens.
After watching the very, very late fireworks display, we left, but saw more and more people coming to dance.
Remember: The welfare of a nation depends on the sane education of the young.*
