KJ Fairmart-City Savings Bank leaned on another strong performance from Gherald Abrot to upend Head and Shoulders, 103-101, Sunday in a battle of unbeaten teams in Group 2 of the Tan Kek Pin Memorial Basketball Cup's Class B division at the Po Hang Gym.

Abrot made four of his 14 fourth-quarter points down the stretch to boost KJ, 98-92, after Head and Shoulders had tied the match at 92. When the game boiled down free throw shooting, KJ-CSB also proved steadier.

Abrot finished with 25 points, including 11 in the opening period, where KJ opened a 27-14 spread. RJ Peñas and Theodoro Lara added 11 and 10, respectively as KJ notched their fourth win of the tournament.

H and S ace Raffy Torrico stood at the forefront of the fourth quarter surge and finished with 23 points. Romeo Rojo added 13, while Joenel Pabiana and Roldan Del Solor came away with 10 each.

In Group 3, Panasonic thumped Meguiar's Streetwash. Panasonic's Bobil Alagaban and Antonio Rogacion went to work early, combining for 26 points in the opening period to set the tone for the rout.

The duo wound up with a combined 36 points, while Rey Jara contributed 14. Meguar's was led by Kenderson Hao with 13 points and Vincent Tan with 11. *CPT
