TKP Cup 2nd round unfolds

The second phase of the 8th Tan Kek Pin Memorial Basketball Cup begins today with class B teams Rentas Knights battling Amspec at the Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

Rentas Knights and Amspec are in group 3, where, along with the top two teams of group 4, will play in a crossover match with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals.

Winless class A squads BAPRO and Province of Negros Occidental clash in the second game.

On Sunday, group 3 squads Meguiars and Panasonic collide in the first game, followed by the match between Marco Metals and Province B in group 4.

Undefeated Class A squads Probac and World of Fun play in the third game.

In another clash of unbeaten teams, this time in Class B, Head and Shoulders (3-0) battles KJ Mart-City Savings Bank (3-0) in the last game.

Pacing group 1 of the Class B are Baciwa and Davies-Luis Paint with identical 3-0 records. Foodman and Gentech Atlantic are in third with 2-1 slates.

In Group 2, Rexona Men's Power and Air Power Services share third with 2-1 records.

The group 1 and 2 teams have clinched automatic quarterfinal seats with the top teams getting the chance to become automatic semifinalists if they win in a crossover knockout match after the end of elimination round.*CPT
