Sipalay's Achelle Guion who bagged a silver medal in power lifting in Southeast Asian Para Games at Nakhon Ratchasima , Thailand was commended by Acting Gov. Isidro Zayco, a press release from the Provincial Government yesterday.

Guion, 34, a resident of San Jose , Sipalay, who was stricken by polio at a young age, was also commended by Board Member Macario Zafra, Jr. of the sixth district, ABC-Negros Occidental president George Gitano, PCL-Negros Occ. president Raul Rivera and special assistant for special concerns Ike Barredo.

The officials have pledged to give her incentives for her feat, the press release added. The Capitol also promised to give incentives to Southeast Asian Games medalists last month but the athletes said they have yet to receive their incentives.

Guion was accompanied by her trainers Leans Villafranca and Joey Atanacio.

She will participate in another Paralympics to be held in Beijing , China in September. *
