NORPPO celebrates PNP Day
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office will celebrate the 17th PNP Day today, with Gov. Emilio Macias II as guest of honor and speaker at the program set at 10 a.m. at Camp Fernandez, Barangay Agan-an, in Sibulan town.

Provincial director Melvin Ramon Buenafe said citations will be given to representatives of government and non-government organizations, civic clubs, and other groups and individuals who have helped make the NORPPO the best provincial police command in Region 7 this year.

Buenafe also disclosed that a soft opening will be held for the firing range being built inside the camp compound.

He invited shooting enthusiasts to come and use the facility, and also appealed for help to complete the project.

He said the public will feel better and safer knowing that policemen in the province are proficient in the use of their weapons.

A tree-planting activity is also scheduled today, as part of the PNP organization's thrust in helping promote environmental protection, Buenafe said.*JG
