Guv checks out,
resting at home
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Gov. Joseph Marañon checked out of the Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital in Bacolod City Sunday, his chief of staff Jose Ma. Valencia said yesterday.

The governor is a lot better but still needs rest so the no-visitors order of his doctors still stands, Valencia said.

The governor has extended his leave until Feb. 15. Meanwhile, Vice Gov. Isidro Zayco will remain acting governor.

The governor looks good, a lot better than when he was first hospitalized, Zayco, who visited him yesterday, said.

The governor was brought to the hospital on Jan. 14 where he stayed for about three weeks.

He had complained of loss of appetite, prompting his doctors to have him fed intravenously.

The governor has since resumed eating, Valencia said yesterday.*CPG
